The punt block that changed the bracket

This is no exaggeration. Without this block, Case Western Reserve's season would be done and someone else would be in the playoffs. Zach Lyons blocks a Carnegie Mellon punt and Justin Phan ran it into the end zone, giving Case Western Reserve a lead and new life in its regular season finale. Case went on to win in overtime and get an at-large bid to the playoffs. It's the D3football.com Play of the Week. This play also won the fan vote.

Week 11 Play of the Week finalists

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:


Frostburg junior quarterback Connor Cox finds junior wide receiver Sergio Andino, who makes an impressive one-handed TD reception. It was the Bobcats' only score in regulation in a game they went on to win 14-7 in double overtime.
 

Karter Odermann scrambles, then throws to the end zone where the deflection finds Kevin Masini for a 22-yard touchdown in overtime. Pomona-Pitzer then completed the two-point conversion and defeated its cross-street rival, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 29-28 in overtime.
 

Tyler Stoyle hits Demetrius Magee for a short gain, who then laterals it to the left tackle, Brock Riggs, who comes around to score the touchdown for Heidelberg. It put the Student Princes up 49-20 on Capital.
