Offense

QB Miles Thompson, Sr., Hendrix

Thompson returns to the D3football.com Team of the Week for the first time since 2017. He threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns on 22-for-26 passing and added 10 carries for 72 yards in the Warriors' 49-31 win against Austin College on Feb. 27.

OL Jackson O'Neil, Levi Torres, Trevor Hopkins, NaKoven Lewis, Nike Gooden, Texas Lutheran

The Bulldogs up front helped the offense roll up 430 yards, 384 of them on the ground. Five separate ballcarries averaged 5.0 yards per carry or more in a 24-3 win against Sul Ross State on Feb. 27.

RB Duncan Varela, Sr., Puget Sound

Varela ran for 131 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries and caught three passes for 27 yards and two touchdowns, accounting for 18 of Puget Sound's 20 points in a 20-3 win against Pacific Lutheran.

RB Grayson Overstreet, So., Emory & Henry

Overstreet ran for 196 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries in Emory & Henry's 17-0 win at Ferrum on Friday night, Feb. 26.

WR Mason Perkins, Sr., Texas Lutheran

Perkins caught 10 passes for 205 yards in the Bulldogs' season-opening 39-38 win at Howard Payne on Feb. 6. His day included two touchdown catches, each of which tied the game in the second half.

WR Jake Parker, Sr., Howard Payne

Parker also had a great day in the season-opening shootout between Texas Lutheran and Howard Payne. Parker came down with 11 catches for 195 yards and a touchdown, a catch which gave the Yellowjackets the short-lived lead, 31-24 early in the fourth quarter.

WR Broderick Hampton, Sr., Austin College

Hampton had a big day as the Roos tried to keep pace with Hendrix in a 49-31 loss. He opened the scoring with an 86-yard touchdown catch from Tyler James and added a touchdown catch early in the fourth quarter as part of a five-reception, 120-yard day on Feb. 27.

Defense

DE Jay Swegheimer, So., Emory & Henry

Swegheimer had three and a half tackles for loss, all of them sacks, as the Wasps started their final season in Division III with a 17-0 blanking of Ferrum on Sept. 26.

DT Sante Parker Jr., Jr., Mary Hardin-Baylor

Southwestern could not keep Parker out of its backfield, as he racked up seven tackles, four and a half of them tackles for loss, and forced a fumble in a 52-7 win against the Pirates on Feb. 27.

DE Campbell Miller, Sr., Trinity (Texas)

Miller had two and a half tackles for loss and a sack in the Tigers' season-opening 35-24 win against Austin College. His day also included a forced fumble as well as seven total tackles.

LB Cameron DeArman, Sr., Birmingham-Southern

DeArman had eight total tackles plus four quarterback hurries in the Panthers' 42-35 win against Centre on Feb. 27. That total included two and a half tackles for loss and a 16-yard sack.

LB Akeem Jackson, Sr., Mary Hardin-Baylor

Jackson led the UMHB defense with 13 total tackles and four tackles for loss, including a sack, in a 52-7 win against Southwestern on Feb. 27. He also forced a fumble.

LB Casey Peppers, So., Huntingdon

Peppers recorded 10 total tackles, eight solo, as Huntingdon defeated Brevard 26-18 on Feb. 20. Peppers recovered two fumbles and recorded one, on Brevard's final play of the game, halting the Tornados' comeback attempt. Peppers had two tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry in the win.

LB Dakwa Davis, Sr., Texas Lutheran

Davis racked up four and a half tackles for loss as part of an 11-tackle day in a 24-3 win against Sul Ross State on Feb. 27. He also had half a sack.

CB Joc Pledger, So., Brevard

Pledger had a huge afternoon for the Tornados in helping keep the Hawks in check on Feb. 20. He came up with nine total tackles, three of them tackles for loss, as well as a forced fumble and a pass breakup in a game Huntingdon won 26-18. His pass breakup in the red zone forced Huntingdon to settle for a field goal in the first quarter, and his forced fumble came shortly after Brevard cut the deficit to 11 in the fourth quarter, giving the offense the ball on the Huntingdon 15.

S KJ Kelley, Jr., East Texas Baptist

Kelley had almost all of the offense that East Texas Baptist needed in a Feb. 13 win against Belhaven, as he returned two interceptions a total of 146 yards, both of them for touchdowns in the 44-16 victory. He also had 10 tackles, five solo.

S James Bell, Sr., Texas Lutheran

Bell had eight total tackles, including half a tackle for loss in the Bulldogs' 24-3 win against Sul Ross State.

CB Colten Chelin, Jr., Whitworth

Chelin only had one tackle in a season-opening 53-6 win against Puget Sound, but that's in large part because he intercepted a pass and had two pass breakups in the Feb. 13 game.

Special teams

K Cole Starr, Jr., Huntingdon

Starr was 4-for-4 on field goals, connecting from 26, 31, 34 and 31 yards out as well as going 2-for-2 on extra points as Huntingdon defeated Brevard 26-18 on Feb. 20. 

P Nate RaPue, Jr., Whitworth

RaPue punted five times, averaging 41.6 yards per punt, in Whitworth's 28-10 win against Pacific Lutheran. Three of his punts landed not only inside the opponent's 20-yard line, but at the 5 or closer.

RET Deiondre Wilson, Fr., Berry

Wilson, so undersung that his name wasn't even in the box score, had a chance to return a kickoff after Rhodes' lone score of the day on Feb. 27 and you know what we're going to say next -- he made the most of it. Wilson returned the kick 94 yards for a touchdown to wrap up the scoring in Berry's 54-7 win.
