Ithaca snapped a seven-game Cortaca Jug skid, Randolph-Macon beat Hampden-Sydney for the fourth year in a row, Amherst and Williams went to overtime and Merchant Marine beat its archrival on ESPN3 on a day in which big rivalry games were front and center in Division III football.

Freshman quarterback Wahid Nabi set a school record with six touchdown passes for the Bombers, including five in the first half, as Ithaca defeated Cortland 48-20, getting first-year coach Dan Swanstrom a win in his first Cortaca Jug game. The victory came in front of a reported crowd of 11,000 fans. Nabi finished the game 27-of-37 for 329 yards.

Brice Moore ran the option offense to near perfection for Merchant Marine, as he ran for 207 and two touchdowns on 40 carries in a 48-23 win vs. archrival Coast Guard. The game, Division III's equivalent of the Army-Navy game, is played for the Secretaries' Cup and was seen by 5,077 at Coast Guard's Cadet Memorial Field. After Coast Guard cut the Mariners' lead to 27-23 late in the third quarter, the Mariners got an 83-yard kickoff return and Moore was in the end zone three plays later. Merchant Marine returned a fumble for a touchdown on the next offensive series and Moore added a touchdown in the closing minutes for the final margin.

Randolph-Macon made it four wins vs. Hampden-Sydney in four years, and six in the past seven as the Yellow Jackets scored the final three touchdowns in a 56-28 win. Tre Frederick and Eric Hoy combined for 39 carries and 215 yards in the win, with Hoy scoring five touchdowns and Frederick a pair. JP Redmond ran up 86 yards and a score on nine carries as well. Randolph-Macon finished 7-3, 4-2 in the ODAC, with Hampden-Sydney finishing 6-4, 4-2.

Williams ended what will certainly be known as Year One of Bobby Maimaron with a 31-24 win vs. archrival Amherst in overtime in front of a crod of 7,130. Maimaron threw for 183 yards, but his legs were the big story, as he ran for four touchdowns and 133 yards on 33 carries, including the game-winning score, an 11-yard TD in overtime. The Ephs finished 6-3, a year after going 0-8.

The Battle of Sixth Street ended in a spectacular play in overtime. Pomona-Pitzer quarterback Karter Odermann scrambled, then threw to the end zone where the deflection found Kevin Masini for a 22-yard touchdown. Pomona-Pitzer then completed the two-point conversion and defeated its cross-street rival, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 29-28.

Rose-Hulman scored 83 points in the first three quarters and pummeled Earlham 83-14 in the teams' regular season finale. It's the fourth consecutive 0-10 season for the Quakers, who have lost 43 consecutive games. Points were also plentiful for La Verne in an 82-17 win vs. Whittier and for Hope, which defeated Concordia (Wis.) 70-6. Brandan Campbell and Chris Leigh had a combined 407 yards and six rushing touchdowns.
